Zaberer's Restaurant

The Wildwoods' own "Toast of the Coast," Ed Zaberer created a truly unique dining experience in Anglesea, one that remains revered in Wildwood lore to this day. With its varous themed rooms, antique stylings, and collection of zany decor, there was nothing quite like it. The term "Zaberized" was coined to refer to the larger-than-life atmosphere of this legendary establishment. Check out our permanent Zaberer's exhibit, featuring memoriabilia, promotional material, photos of the many celebrities who visited the restaurant and so much more!

Wildwood Postcards

Did you know that the Wildwood Historical Society has one of the largest postcard collections in South Jersey? Our collection contains over 2500 postcards, illustrating everything from hotels to restaurants, schools to churches. While many of the buildings on the postcards no longer stand, the Wildwood Historical Society is privileged to preserve these images and other remnants of our island's history.

Golden Nugget Cactus

This cactus prop once adorned the Golden Nugget Mine Ride, which opened on Hunt's Pier in July of 1960 and became a crowd favorite for decades on the Wildwood boardwalk. Traveling in a mine-car themed coaster, riders were taken back through the Old West and experienced collapsing beams, near head-on collisions, and the deepest depths of various mineshafts. The ride was closed in 1999 and sat dormant for nearly ten years until it was demolished on April 20, 2009.
